WATER! IT'S NECESSARY...

Your body uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissues to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. Because your body loses water through breathing, sweating, and digestion, it's important to rehydrate by drinking fluids and eating foods that contain water.

The Functions of Water

Cell life
Water is a carrier, distributing essential nutrients to cells, such as minerals, vitamins and glucose.

Chemical and metabolic reactions
Water removes waste products including toxins that the organs’ cells reject, and removes them through urine and feces.

Transport of nutrients
Water participates in the biochemical break-down of what we eat.

Body temperature regulation

Water has a large heat capacity which helps limit changes in body temperature in a warm or a cold environment. Water allows the body to release heat when ambient temperature is higher than body temperature (1). The body begins to sweat, and the evaporation of water from the skin surface very efficiently cools the body.

Elimination of waste
Water is an effective lubricant around joints. It also acts as a shock absorber for eyes, brain, spinal cord and even for the foetus through amniotic fluid.

SELFISH.. IN A GOOD WAY!

Being a little selfish can be a good thing. This is your life and not anyone else's. Why wouldn't you be an expert at knowing what you need? Pleasing  everyone is not possible nor is it required. Why should you have to?

The same people who try to keep you closed in and dancing to their tune are living their lives just the way they desire to. Too many people get so caught up in what others will think of them not realizing the misery that comes along with carrying that weight.
Free yourself from opinions and live your life without fear of judgement. Yes, there is a chance you could possibly fail, but there is also a chance you will succeed. Take ownership for your happiness. It is not your job to make everyone else happy. The people who really love you rejoice when you succeed. Be aware of those who do not clap when you're winning.
Being selfish is putting yourself first, but there are times when you sacrifice for someone else and this is ok. Be sure that you do not sacrifice your own happiness long term.

Check out these four ways to make being selfish a good thing:

  • Spending time on your own so you can work out who you are.
  • Saying ‘no’ more often
  • Get rid of what’s keeping you from being happy
  • Find out what your 'bliss' is and follow that

Have you ever questioned your relationship with someone? Here are a few titles for those of you who dare to label..

  • Acquaintance: A person you know and at times interact with in miscellaneous settings. Some people will label this person as a friend.

  • Friend: A person that you make time for as well as enjoy.

  • True Friend: A relationship that develops over time. This person is always there even if miles away and this friendship is not determined by the amount of time you spend together.

  • Old friend: A person who has been connected to you in some way for a very long time. A friendship that doesn't constantly have to be watered.

  • Eternal Friend: When two people have disconnected for some time, but keep a friendship through a special bond.

  • Karmic Relationship: This relationship teaches you a lesson. It is passionate, but is temporary and often ends before marriage.

A dead-end job is a pejorative term describing a job in which there is little or no chance of progressing and succeeding into a higher paid position. Here are signs that you could be working a dead end job.

  • A machine could do your job.
  • Your company regularly promotes from outside.
  • Everyone above you has been there forever.
  • Your company is not growing.
  • Your boss / company doesn’t value creativity.
  • You don’t want your boss’s job.
  • Your boss doesn’t support your career goals.
  • Your role has never evolved.
  • You find yourself asking, “Is this all there is?” even when things are going right.
  • You spend more than 5% of your day dreaming about other things.
  • You often find yourself thinking, “I could do better.”

Now that you have determined that you could be working a dead end job you have to decide if you are willing to take the risk and make a change that better suits you. It is possible to work and be happy.
