TO CONCEAL OR NOT CONCEAL!

To conceal or not to conceal? For those of you that apply your own makeup and do the works, here's a little secret about concealer. (Go ahead, tell your best friend while your having lunch why you look so flawless!) Apply foundation before concealer. If you don't, you will remove your base product. Then 'bake' your face by applying a translucent powder (letting it sit for about 20 minutes) and dust it off with a fan brush. Voila!!! A flawless finish!

LAYING THE FOUNDATION

Laying The Foundation

Now that you've picked your foundation, here is a tip on how to apply it. Always apply your foundation at the center of your face and blend out. It gives you a more natural look because it fades out around the edges of your face and doesn't create a "line" along your jawline. Also, apply it with a blending sponge in a circular motion to create a more smooth and pore less look.

Have you ever taken ownership for a problem that you may have caused or do you constantly blame others? If every situation you are  involved in seems to go haywire, you may want to do some self evaluation.

Here are a few self improvement ideas that can help you achieve more effective results.

  • Practice saying positive things daily: A positive mind can produce positive action.
  • Give compliments: Find something good even in the worst situation.
  • Control your voice: Your tone can determine the response you receive.
  • Be open minded: Don't shut down an idea simply because you do not understand.
  • Welcome opinions: You don't know everything!
  • Listen: Be a good listener, it's a sign of respect.
  • Ask questions: Take constructive criticism, make adjustments as needed and realize that it's not a personal attack.
  • Give: Don't always be on the receiving end. There are times when you should sacrifice and be there for others but, discern when it's time to say no.
  • Practice pleasantry: Smile, laugh, shake hands, hug and clap.
  • Look your best: The first impression is everything. The first thing someone will see is YOU!

      THE FOUNDATION!

There are a few things to consider when choosing the right foundation. Your skin type( dry, oily, normal or combination), the desired coverage you want (sheer, medium, full) and skin tone (fair, medium, medium deep, deep, very deep). Based on your skin type and desired finish (matte, radiant or natural) you can select a foundation that best fits your needs. Once you determine the key things I've stated, choose 3 shades that appear to be close to your skin tone. Test them along your jawline and the shade that disappears is the best shade match. Foundation is all about creating a smooth and consistent color throughout your face and neck.

LIVING SINGLE? THE SERIES!

In 2011, the US Census Bureau reported, that percentage had dropped to 48 percent. In 2014, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 124.6 million Americans 16 years and older were single, or 50.2 percent of the population, compared with 37.4 percent of the population in 1976.

Why are you single? Are you waiting for Mr. Perfect? News flash ladies, he doesn't exist! In this day and age, a lot of women are waiting for that 'knight in shining armor' to come and save the day and until then chanting "there are no good men!" Let's think for a minute - if women are constantly bashing men and claiming to be so independent, shouldn't any man feel offended and a little useless? I was accustomed to becoming so frustrated when I was told that men need us to cheer them on, pat them on the back, encourage them, and be their support system. Those are the things that we do for our children right? Here is an issue that some women are having - WE WANT AND NEED THE SAME THINGS!

I want to share with you one of my most favorite relationship quotes.

"So many good women have dealt with the wrong man and so many good men have dealt with the wrong woman that, by the time you two finally meet, you're BOTH afraid of each other."
