Hey Divas!
Y’all already know what it is. When you’re a one man show, or in my case, a one woman show, it’s easy to get sidetracked and behind on things. With that being said, let me catch you guys up on what’s been going on with me. At the end of September, I had the pleasure of being the MUA for Jazmyne Byrd. The Cincinnati native who currently resides in Atlanta, was an honoree at The Sister I Have Your Back Honoring. She’s the owner of The Divah Filez and was being honored for her works with HBCU’s across the U.S. She sat graciously in my chair and told me to work my magic. Which was music to my ears! Jazmyne usually goes for the “clean beauty” look but this time I chose to change it up a little. We went with a partial smokey eye and the JAZMYNE lashes from my Lady Diamond 3D Mink Lash Collection (see info below to purchase) and nude lip. Full coverage foundation completed the look. Flawless. Satisfied with her complete look, it was time to get dressed and head out. SHOWTIME! I was honored to come all the way from Texas to be a part of her big day. I love what I do! If you’d like to read more about the event, check out ‘Kickin’ It In The ATL’ on the EntrepreneuHER page in View Woman Magazine. We would to thank the men who have participated in this article. Now ladies we need you to give them the open and honest answers they are looking for! Written by K.G ![]() Working at a job with other females can be tough at times. It can even get a little heated if the conditions are right. But does it have to be? In the corporate world it’s kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. Only the tough survive. Guess what though, it doesn’t have to be! The world is so competitive, and everyone is trying to get ahead, but no one is seeing the big picture. This world would not run without us! When I say us, I mean us working as a team. We have so much power together that its INSANE!!! It makes sense why there is prejudice in the world (you’ll catch that later). Can you imagine a world where we uplifted each other, protected each other, and made sure that the other was good. It’s not as far fetched as you think. It starts with YOU! Challenge of the day: take a moment to get to know one of your coworkers each day for one week. If you don’t learn something you didn’t know about them you can stop. If you do learn something about them, you have to add one more person one more day. Not everyone is going to be receptive to your challenge, but you will be surprised to who will! Set the tone, and do something different. It will change your life. Work your jelly, girl! It’s in you for a reason! THE AMERICAN DREAM! Hello Dolls!!! I know, I know. It’s been waaaayyyy too long! I’ve missed you guys! I bet you all have been wondering “Where is LaCrecia? She can’t be that busy!” Truth is, I have! We’ll catch up on the other stuff, I want to share with you all my latest experience....AH-MAZING!! I remember as young girl, watching The Miss America and Miss USA Pageants. It was always aired on a Saturday night. As I sat in front of the TV, I’d be in awe of all the contestants. Their beauty, the feathered Farrah Fawcett hairstyles, and those dresses! While the styles of the dresses and makeup has changed, the beauty of the contestants has not. I had the pleasure of being The Event Makeup Artist for Miss America 2019 Nia Imani Franklin for The 7th I Am Beautiful Movement in Henderson, TX!!! Yes, me!! I was floored when I found I would be her MUA for the event. And to think, I had to keep the news to myself for a little over a week! I wanted to BURST! But I held it in, basking in the moment. Being grateful for the founder of the event for submitting my name and for Miss America’s team for choosing me. She is a very intelligent young lady and was a pleasure to work with. We decided on a partial smokey eye using copper and dark brown shades with a neutral lip. Easy breezy. And she loved it! Ladies, do not give up on your dream. I can’t stress it enough. Push through all the late nights, early mornings, feeling tired, unappreciated, unsupported by loved ones, FEAR. Push through it all. Your destiny is waiting for you on the other side.
By LaCrecia Steward MY TAKE ON EYELASH EXTENSIONS! Hello my loves!! I’m baaaaaaack!!! I have missed you all! But I haven’t missed a beat. During my absence, I continued to try and perfect my craft (Makeup Artist) & I became a Certified Lash Tech. And I’m loving every minute of it! My passion for it grows daily. I’ve met some amazing women, that have embraced this growing beauty trend as much as I do. Like getting my nails done, or threading/waxing my eyebrows (well not anymore because I have them microbladed) I need them! I love them! And I want other women to embrace them. Lashes give my clients that extra boost of confidence. You know, the kind of confidence that doesn’t wash off like mascara! You don’t wake up with raccoon eyes. Just beautiful, curly, dark lashes. You can just get up and go. Well, after you wash your face and brush your teeth! But no more mascara. The application is so flawless and so seamless that people will notice something “different” about your eyes but not be able to tell that you’re wearing them. They are part of you because they are your real eyelashes just an extension of them. The eyelash extension process is painless, seamless if done skillfully & beautiful when done. You hear stories about lashes bringing out your real lashes or chemicals in the glue damaging your lashes. Well guess what, there’s worse chemicals in tap water! Yes! The water you brush your teeth with and wash your face with every day. There will be people who are sensitive to the glue & can’t keep them on just like there are people that are allergic to gluten and can’t enjoy it enjoy a pretzel. I suggest you try them for yourself. Go to a lash tech you trust, ask questions. Voice your concerns. I’m sure if she’s anything like me, wait.....not possible, I’m one of a kind!! But all jokes aside, I’m sure she would be more than happy to answer your questions and make you feel comfortable. And this is my take on eyelash extensions. Have a Fabu-LASH Day! By LaCrecia Steward ![]() Yoga is so such more then just stretching and meditation. Yoga instructors focus on teaching you breathing exercises that are known to aide in relieving stress. Many say the relaxing environment leaves them feeling at peace, energized and optimistic! Not only is yoga good for the soul it's also safe, which means limited injuries. These exercises are not strenuous or difficult. They often only consist of stretching, laying, bending and can be performed right in your living room. The most beneficial part of this soothing lifestyle is it's ability to increase health risks such as, lowering your blood pressure and improving your cholesterol. There is a bonus! Yoga tones the body, strengthens muscles and can burn fat. You can find yoga classes online for your convenience or sign up for a class near you. Sometimes being in a group setting can be very encouraging! Good luck and always "Namaste" By K.G These days eyelashes are making a huge statement and it seems mascara alone is not cutting it! Here is a quick video for those who dare to do it yourself. Contrave does not work for everyone. It's designed to curb your appetite but it is not a miracle drug. You must use self control as well. This pill will not remove your desire for food completely but when taken correctly you will more than likely never overeat again. I lost a total of 19lbs in eight weeks and that was without exercise. I recently stopped taking Contrave because I did not want to become dependent on the drug and my appetite slowly picked back up. The side effects were mild but I've heard of some being somewhat terrible. The estimated retail price for Contrave is $269 but it's only $99 with their discount coupon. I'd say it's worth the try. You have nothing but weight to lose!

The Kite: This person is blowing in the wind and doesn't think very long, but also has a quick plan in action. K Graves Normal skin: 'Normal' is a considered to be well- balanced skin. We asked a male with normal healthy skin about his secret and he says plenty of water plus an occasional detox does the trick. He also adds that what you sweat out can affect your skin. Dry skin: 'Dry' is used to describe a skin type that produces less sebum than normal skin. Sebum is an oily substance produced by the sebaceous glands. Our skin needs it in order to function, but too much of it can lead to acne, and an overly oily complexion. Oily skin: "Sebum" is the technical term. We spoke with two women who insist there is a daily struggle when it comes to taming their oily skin. While one uses mild soap and noxzema cleanser the other applies alcohol three times a month. All though it's been considered the big "no no" she says this is what works. There was a suggestion to substitute the alcohol with witch hazel, a product often used to treat oily skin. Combination skin: Both dry and oily. This tends to be the most common but there are not very many products that treat this skin type. Where one area is oily the other is dry which means you must treat each area differently. ![]() Research shows that what you eat can affect your skin. Processed foods that are starchy and products high in sugar can cause acne. We can all agree to the known fact that drinking water is the number one key to healthy skin. Remember to always wash your face before bed! By K.G |
