Helloooooo View Babes! I’ve missed you guys! Been busy on the road, as usual, but couldn’t wait to share with you all my latest venture. I had the honor of being the MUA for Jazmyne Byrd, an honoree at The 3rd Annual Sister I Have Your Back Honoring......and it was an AH-MAZING event! All of honorees graced The Atlanta City Hall Atrium with so much beauty. The beautiful host Davica Williams, Beautii J of reality show Cuttin’ It In The ATL and serial entrepreneur, Jasmine “Razor Chic of Atlanta” Collins, Singer TEN, Pastor Jameliah Young and a host of other beautiful, talented women were being honored. One of our lead journalists was able to get a quick interview with The Razor Chic of Atlanta. She told us how she got started and what she’s known for now. We also spoke with Beautii J and Pastor Jameliah Young. And the vendor line up......was FIRE!! This event was definitely a treat for me and I ate it up like a bowl of ice cream. Seeing women uplift and build one another up is a beautiful thing. It’s what we need more of. The global movement of Sister I Have Your Back was created by Tylisha Marie to remind women of the strength that is within them and that they are relevant. All the honorees were deserving of their award. The next stop of this event hasn’t been announced yet, but I can assure you, I will be in the building. Thanks guys for allowing me to share with you pieces of my journey. If you’re ever in the ATL, make sure you stop by Gocha’s Breakfast Bar, Frost Bistro, OLG (Old Lady Gang) or Yard House. You won’t be disappointed and your tastebuds will thank you. Til next time! I’ve checked out your online boutique and you have some pretty nice items. The average woman spends about $315 a month on her appearance. This adds up to $3780 per year or $225,360 in her lifetime. That’s a lot of cosmetics! Makeup makes you look good but good makeup makes money. Skills on how to apply it to enhance one’s beauty as a makeup artist, can make you just as much money. But that’s not why I got into the beauty industry. Sure, in the beginning it was fun. Doing my makeup for prom, my friends makeup for weddings, birthday parties or just because. Their reaction always gave me great joy. As the years went by, I began to develop relationships with some of my clients. Our conversations would be about any & everything. From sickness to their children acting out, to cheating husbands & backstabbing friends. All of these life challenges have belonged to at least one of my clients at some point. A session at my studio became a haven for them to vent without being judged or hearing it again outside of those four walls. You see, that’s how I grew my business. Not because of my ability to create the perfect look for them. But because I care about people. With the stroke of every brush, I connected with each of my clients and they have became my sisters at heart. Doing what you love never feels like work. Develop relationships because your work should never be about the money if it’s your passion. Thanks for joining me here as I share pieces of my EntrepreneuHER journey. Stay tuned, there more to come....so much more. Website: Lashstudio214.com
Facebook: Lash Studio 214 Makeup & Lash Haven Instagram: GlamourGyrl Mrs. Bradley, what’s your backstory and how did you birth the idea of having your own candle line?
My love for candles started as a little girl watching my mom buy candles. But the actual adventure into making them first began when my husband mentioned a few times he wanted to make candles. I did a little research and purchased everything needed for him to start. Of course it sat there for weeks maybe a month later I decided to play with it one year later I haven’t put candles down. I honestly believe sometimes God gives our vision through someone else. My husband is not so much a candle maker but he is very smart when it comes to business. Is the process for creating unique scents difficult? Creating candles is honestly like a science experiment lol. Making candles and come up with scents and names can be challenging until you get the hang of it. What have you done to grow your business to where it is today? I honestly have the BEST customers hands down word of mouth has been everything. I also do a lot of promoting on Facebook and I go to craft shows as much as possible. If you could go back, would you do anything different? No, I wouldn’t. As this whole experience has been a learning experience, if anything I would have started sooner. What are your plans for the future growth of your company? Keep watching Pretty Queen Candles will be a household name. My plan is to get all of my products sold in stores and have a store front of my own. How had social media played a part in your business? Social media has been amazing it helps reach people that aren’t local or even in same state. I’ve been able to collect email addresses from people who visit my social media profiles and make loyal customers. Any advice for others that want to start a candle company? DO YOUR RESEARCH! Take your time, test out EVERY candle formula, wick and get insurance. Where can we go to place an order? Orders can be placed through the website www.prettyqueencandles.com and for wholesale inquires prettyqueencandles@gmail.com Enlighten the world and tell us a little about yourself.
“I’m Candrea Shackelford, a 25 year old single mother of two beautiful children. I was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. I’m the owner of Kandie’s Plus Boutique, I’m a writer, motivational speaker, activist and soon to be co-owner a production company. My mission in life is to make people happy. I enjoy hosting events for the community and i love giving back to my community.” It takes courage and confidence to start up a business. What motivated you to be an EntrepreneuHER? “My father, Clarence Shackelford; who I assume everyone is familiar with, is my motivation! He would often tell me as a child that I will soon takeover his company. I used to look past his statement and brush it off because I did not intend of owning my own business. I finally had a “sit down” conversation with my dad approximately 4 years ago and told him that I was finally ready to start my own company. He said it was about time that I’m following his footsteps.” Why did you decide to start a plus size online boutique? How do you keep up with the latest trends to stand out from other boutiques? “Well it was extremely hard to find cute and trendy clothing in plus size for a reasonable price. In 2015, i felt that it was time for a change! Everyone deserves to have a stylish wardrobe, especially my ‘Plus Sized Divas!’ As a customer, I would shop online or in store for clothing in my size and they weren’t as cute as the smaller sizes. I knew then that I wanted to make every curvy lady happy when shopping and that’s by having the hottest and cutest outfit for her.” Are your clothing items for the everyday woman or is it a mix of casual, classy or clubwear? “My inventory is a mixture of casual, classy, club wear and evening wear. I don’t want to just focus on one style of clothing. My customers are my main priority and I want to ensure that Kandie’s Plus Boutique can be the one stop shop for them instead of them having to browse from site to site looking for clothing in different styles.” I understand that you still have a full time job. How do you achieve work-life balance and what keeps you going in difficult times? “It’s a struggle actually. I honestly think I should hire a personal assistant.. Well, that’s if I were able to afford one. Maybe in the near future! I set daily goals, keep a planner and use my virtual assistant to keep me well organized. I always keep a notebook handy to jot down new ideas and business plans.” What is it about your mentality that’s changed since starting your own business? “My mentality has changed tremendously as far as engaging with my customers and ensuring that they get the best service provided by Kandie’s Plus Boutique. My customer service and hospitality skills improved.” Did social media play a role in you being where you are today in your business? “Social media still plays an important role in my business. It helps with promoting my brand, interacting with customers from my Facebook and Instagram profile, advertisement and targeting my audience.” What has been the role of luck in your success? There’s always a dose of luck of being in a certain place and certain time. “My ‘Role of Luck’ in my business was getting a chance to meet my business partner, meet celebrity stylists, and other business owners in East Texas!” How can one place an order for some your fabulous items? “You can place an order by going to www.kandiesplus.com We also have a like page on Facebook: Kandie’s Plus Boutique and Instagram: @kandiesplus .” Is your credit in need of a fix? Well have no fear Snazzy Credit Repair Agency is here! Check out our exclusive interview. How did you get started in credit repair? Well, actually credit repair got started in me. Growing up poor in Uptown New Orleans, I knew nothing about having good credit. It was years later in passing that I caught wind of it. I began to hear more about this thing called a FICO Score and the importance of having a high score. I developed a strong desire to know more about it because when my colleagues spoke about their “good credit” they showed so much elation and excitement. It was then that I began my journey to help educate anyone who would listen about the importance of having good credit. I also began to realize that a good life is attainable. My mission at this moment in time is to change lives, one FICO Score at a time. Finances are usually a sensitive subject to someone that’s financially challenged. Is it difficult to get people to trust you with their financial business? Trust is a very important component within the credit repair industry or any industry for that matter. I believe in the old adage 'trust isn't given it's earned'. You know what? I can deal with that because with the right combination of passion and persistence, trust will be sure to follow. Snazzy Credit Repair will work hard to deliver results. In this industry, keeping your word and treating every customer like they matter are just some of the fine details that are overlooked. Can you explain the difference in a credit counseling agency and a credit repair agency Sure. A credit counseling agency advises on managing your money and debts in addition to the assisting the client develop a budget to better get a handle their finances. Educational materials may also be offered as well. Working with a credit counseling agency, you will have to contact the credit bureaus and creditors alone which can be a daunting task if you aren’t savvy with your finances to begin with. Whereas, a credit repair agency does all the work for you by leveraging your legal right to three standards: that the clients credit reports must be completely accurate, wholly fair, and fully authenticated. This is achieved by working with credit bureaus to request the clients credit report and contacting creditors to dispute any errors which will improve a person's credit report as a way of increasing their FICO credit score. These steps usually include examining all the debt that a person has acquired and devising a plan to reduce or eliminate the debt. Statistics show that most are already financially challenged when they want to start repairing their credit. How much does this service cost and is your monthly dropout rate high according to the statistics?
The monthly payment is low which will allow the client to eventually gain financial freedom! We offer free initial consultations with a low monthly payment of $89. An investment in one’s own self is a remarkable step in the right direction! The dropout rate is manageable according to the statistics. The inevitable is that people for some reason or another, won’t be able to keep up with the low monthly payments and that isn’t a problem. After all, this is a no risk/no obligation agreement and the client can cancel anytime. People may not remember what you say or do to them in life, however they will remember how you made them feel. With that being said, the clients that are lost from time to time will be back because it goes right back to providing great customer service from day one. What services do you offer? Snazzy Credit Repair offers a free initial consultation. We will contact the three credit bureaus to request the clients credit report. This will allow us to review the clients credit report to look for any errors, inaccuracies or derogatory marks due to for example, late payments, identity theft, charge-offs, collections, repossessions liens and judgments. Once errors or discrepancies are identified, we will work diligently to have errors or discrepancies removed. We will also negotiate on the client’s behalf to lower interest rates on items that aren’t errors as well as to request to have debts reduced. How will working with you help someone long term? Working with Snazzy Credit Repair will improve the clients FICO score, therefore making new lending easier to obtain and insuring more favorable debt terms on future transactions. Great credit comes in handy when it’s time to buy that new home or car. Working with us also affords the client the opportunity to receive low interest rates on those purchases. Credit repair is just all around important to people that are trying to obtain better credit options. Credit makes the world go around; money does also however, great credit goes a long way. Can you get creditors to lower or eliminate interest and finance charges or waive late fees? Absolutely. Snazzy Credit Repair will use a few credit repair techniques to get lower rates or to eliminate interest all together. The client should also see late fees waived, improvements on lending terms, and refinancing debt. The elimination of interest and late fees doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what working with Snazzy Credit Repair can do for the client’s financial freedom and total well-being. By LaCrecia Steward This weeks spotlight EntreprenuHER is St. Louis native Taff Jackson. She's giving us the up close and real deal on what it’s like to be in the retail industry. How did you get started in the retail field? Did you have any professional background? I’ve always loved fashion and styling other people since I was a kid. For years I dreamed of having my own boutique and my own brand. So once a hard life lesson hit, my business partner and I got backstabbed something terribly. Instead of taking the negative energy & retaliate with anger towards the person, I used that as my motivation to open my own business. What sets your store apart? Whats set my store apart from a lot of others is That I ABSOLUTELY do NOT follow any others, no lurking or trying to keep up with others. That’s something I’ve done for years. I don't like to get caught up in what the Jones are doing. I might have moments when I check out the competition but never on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to mock or copy them. I DO TAFF IN REAL LIFE. Tell me about your unique clutches? Roi-T came from me thinking of ways for Catwalk to stand out and stay unique from the rest of the boutiques. I decided to create my own women’s clutch as well as a male and female shoe brand. So I researched to find the best manufacturer to produce my designs. The Roi-T clutches are a hit but I have yet to find the shoe manufacturer that I am satisfied with. What does a typical day like for you and your team members? A typical day for us at Catwalk is basic...we come in to fill any appointments booked and just do US *go live, dance, crack jokes, talk about up coming events & make sure we provide the best customer service to those coming in the boutique. I see you go live a lot on Facebook, and I must say it’s quite entertaining! And that’s also how I came in contact with you. I saw your clutches in one of the business groups. Has social media contributed to the success of your boutique? Social Media has boost my sales quite a bit and has gotten our name out beyond our community.
It always look like you’re having a great time while you’re working. I can tell you love what you do! I love Catwalk so much because fashion and girly stuff is my passion! Making money is just the icing on the cake. I can never get bored with fashion. We’re a family and that makes the day fun and easy, ain’t no crabs in the bucket here! How has your business grown since you started? My business has grown quite a bit as for being known, but the revenue has dropped because of so many boutiques popping up everyday. The competition is at an all time high but I keep pushing and doing different things to set us aside of others and will continue until Catwalk/Roi-T is a international name. How do you balance your personal life and running a business? It’s really hard for me to balance my personal life and business because like I said, fashion is my passion so I take it home with me. I just try not to neglected family by including them in what I have going on, so most of the time it all comes together. It actually works for us but I’m working on finding ways to separate the two. I’m still a work in progress. What are some of your best selling products? The best selling items always vary here. One week it could be dresses, the next week clutches or accessories. It just depends on the season and time of year. Looking back, is your business what do you envision for Catwalk Fashion Boutique? Looking back I envisioned Catwalk to be known and very popular but I expected alot more revenue to be coming in by now. We might have a lot of fame but the money isn’t as good as I expected. That's why I keep recreating myself and doing things to keep Catwalk relevant and adding more services. Sometimes I feel like I put in more than what I get back. Thank god my this is my passion in REAL life. What advice would give to anyone wanting to open a boutique? My advice to anyone opening a boutique is to make sure they are ready, willing and able to give it their all because its not as cute as it looks on social media. This is REAL LIFE. Tell us how we can get in touch with you to order some of these fabulous pieces? We have online store that,s open 24/7 https://www.roi-tdivas.com/ Today we sat down with Paparazzi Consultant Sheree Smiling. She opens up about how she’s dominating the bling world. What made you decide to get started in a business that seems like it’s heavily saturated with consultants? I started this business initially when it was fairly newly beginning back in 2017. I decided to take a leap of faith because I was tired of the excuses I continued to make as to why I couldn't start a business. My biggest reason was to be able to provide a life for my girls that would allow us to do what we wanted, when we wanted. Paparazzi Accessories was established in 2011 when I became a Fashion Consultant there were less than 100K in the business. There were so many people who didn't even know about the $5 Bling in 2017. I was confident that I could definitely get it out there and be known for doing it the best !! How did you know you had the right idea? Funny thing is I didn't know and I wasn't afraid of taking the risk. I knew failure wasn't an option. I also knew that what I was doing before wasn't taking me to the places I really wanted to go in life. Being a mother, how do you balance parenting and entrepreneurship? The balance was a huge struggle at first, but I decided to make sure I stayed on a schedule with business while they were at school or sleeping. How do you plan on growing your business? I plan to grow my business by consistently learning, meeting new people and utilizing all platforms of social media. My business can be worked anywhere and that's what I love about it! When you first began your journey, were there some mistakes that you wished you could’ve avoided? When I first began, I made a huge mistake. I was not sharing the opportunity with everyone. I wish I knew that connections were more important than sales. If you connect with the right people that support, you will see nothing but success. What advice would you give to anyone wanting to start a business that you wished someone would have given you? One thing that I wish was told, is to not be ashamed of your hustle and stay ready at all times. Tell us how we can purchase some of your fabulous pieces.
