Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
With so much going on in the world today, it is hard to think about peace, or being in a peaceful mindset. Money is short, but the bills are long. Your children are living a life that you didn't instill in them. Your marriage is in shambles. Your friends have disappeared on you. The list goes on and on and on.
How can anyone find peace in these trying times. The answer is quite simple. The answer is in Philippines 4:6-7. In John 14:27, Jesus gives us a gift. His peace. The peace that is mentioned in Philippians. He tells us that is it not the peace that the world gives. It actually goes beyond what we think! We see pictures of beautiful sandy beaches, or soothing sunsets; and we think that is peace. We will even settle for a week vacation in another country just to get away from all the noise of life, and call it being at peace. Well, let me tell you something. That's just the visual interpretation....a glimpse...of what peace really is. Real peace comes from The Father through his Son. The relationship you have with Jesus will provide the peace you seek, and then some!
Don't search for peace in people, places, activities, or things. REAL peace is in God through Jesus Christ. Put down that bottle. Throw away those pills. Don't smoke that cigarette or weed. Those things are just temporary fixes. What I'm presenting to you today is everlasting, and will not let you down. If you believe, you will receive. It's not just cliche'. That is a fact. I challenge you to try something different. Get is a secluded place wherever you are, preferably in your home (like a closet or something); and have a real conversation with God. You won't look crazy, and he will not judge you for what you tell him. Be real with him, and he will be real with you. He will meet you there!
Be blessed, Beautiful!
