The Wait

We live in a world that wants things right now, and in a hurry.  If it's not done quickly, it's not done right.  Fast food, fast lane, instant coffee, instant approvals online...well, you get the point.  Taking our time is a thing of the past....or is it?

The saying good things come to those that wait is actually true.  We may not want to wait, but it is actually for our good.  We get to the point that we move so fast that we miss alot of our blessings in the rush!  Simmer down and pump your breaks, Speedy Gonzales!  You wouldn't drive 100 mph down a curvy road at night when you've never been driven that road before, so why would you do your life like that?

Patience is a virtue that most people do not have, but the ones that do you can usual see their blessings.  They move differently.  Almost like they have no care in the world.  That's called faith.  They believe that everything will work out in it's own time, and when God says it's time.  Most times we miss that part of it....when God says it's time.  He will show us what we are supposed to do or who we are supposed to be with, but we miss WHEN.  He doesn't tell us everything because he wants us to trust him.  That's hard to do, but it's effective.  When your business is overseen by God, your business will not fail.  When your family is lead by God, it will stay together.  When your everyday decisions are brought to God, they are easier to be made.  If he tells you it will happen, believe him!  Don't get so caught up in the timeline.  Enjoy what he has for you right now, so that when it happens you will appreciate it more.

Moving too quickly can damage what is destined for you.  For example, that relationship you prayed for God told you he was the one, but he wasn't ready yet.  You agreed, but then did what you wanted to do anyway.  Ya'll date, get married, but now you're going through a divorce.  Or what about that friend that you would do anything for, and God told you to leave her alone because her heart is not the same as yours.  Now you're in a bind, and reach out to that friend and she's nowhere to be found.  We set ourselves up for failure when we move on our own.  Proverbs 12:15 says it best...the way of a fool is right in his eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel.  God is The Counselor.  He will never lead you down a path that will hurt you or cause pain.  Listen to him.

Waiting is tough.  Especially when we know what we're getting.  I promise you, the end result is worth every second you had to wait.  In the wait, just know that what you are going through today is just the process of getting to what God promised you, and enjoy the ride up!

Love y'all!  Be blessed!
