And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel." So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. Ezekiel 3:1-3
So, before you give me the side eye, the stank face, and say "I'm not eating no paper, this is insane"....hear me out. True enough, this passage is a strange one, but it if we dig deeper we find out what it is that God really wants from us. Trust. The world has a way of giving us reasons to not trust anyone or anything that we see or hear. Bad relationships, sneaky coworkers, and even hypocritical Christians, just to name a few. But one thing we can put our full trust in is the Almighty God.
Notice how (in the scripture) God gave an instruction to Ezekiel, and Ezekiel did it with no hesitation. No matter how weird, or out of the way if seemed, he trusted God. It may not be written, but I guarantee you Ezekiel has some thoughts running through his mind about this instruction. I can hear some of us (and even me) say to God, "uh, do what now?? You want me to eat THIS paper?....this dingy, nasty looking paper right here, with all this writing on it? Lord, I don't know where this paper has been or who has touched it!" But see, that's the thing....we are so caught up in what we SEE, that we miss our blessing. This passage tells us that no matter what it looks like, trust God. No matter what it sounds like, trust God.
When Ezekiel got passed his flesh, and did what God told him to do he realized it wasn't bad at all! It was actually sweet to the taste. It was at that moment, the trust level between him and God was amplified. You will have to read that chapter for yourself to get the full gist of if, but I just want to encourage you today. God has something in store for you that is so amazing, and so awesome. The only thing that is keeping you from your blessing is YOU! Let go of the doubt, the fear, and even the anger that you've been holding on to for whatever reason. TRUST IN HIM!! He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is waiting to bless you, but he is not going to force himself on you. He is waiting on you to just ask. Just remember....believe in your asking, and obey in the your belief.
Be blessed, Queen!
