LAYING THE FOUNDATION

Laying The Foundation

Now that you've picked your foundation, here is a tip on how to apply it. Always apply your foundation at the center of your face and blend out. It gives you a more natural look because it fades out around the edges of your face and doesn't create a "line" along your jawline. Also, apply it with a blending sponge in a circular motion to create a more smooth and pore less look.

      THE FOUNDATION!

There are a few things to consider when choosing the right foundation. Your skin type( dry, oily, normal or combination), the desired coverage you want (sheer, medium, full) and skin tone (fair, medium, medium deep, deep, very deep). Based on your skin type and desired finish (matte, radiant or natural) you can select a foundation that best fits your needs. Once you determine the key things I've stated, choose 3 shades that appear to be close to your skin tone. Test them along your jawline and the shade that disappears is the best shade match. Foundation is all about creating a smooth and consistent color throughout your face and neck.

The quest for healthy skin! Use warm water and a mild anti-bacterial soap to clean your brushes, laying flat to dry to avoid any warping that can happen. Don't over-wash your face. Though clean skin leads to clear skin, washing too vigorously or too often can irritate skin and do more harm than good.

Here are a list of home products that can help you achieve clear and healthy skin!

Lemon:  Apply to skin and let sit for 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Turmeric Powder: A bright yellow powder mainly used because of it's immunity boosting and anti- oxidant properties.

Honey:
  • Acne: Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it's great for acne treatment and prevention.
  • Aging: Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging.
  • Complexion boost: It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow.

Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is used on facial tissues where it is promoted as a moisturiser and anti-irritant to reduce chafing of the nose.

Baking Soda: Can be used for a facial wash. Mix with warm water to create a paste.

Cucumber: V
itamin C and caffeic acid, which both fight to reduce inflamed or irritated skin , and hydration thanks to its high water content. The peel itself contains silica, which firms up sagging skin.

RED LIPSTICK CAN COVER YOUR DARK SPOTS!

The struggle to cover dark circles is definitely real. We spend money buying all types of concealers, using self made home remedies and the key to fix this problem has been right in our make-up bag. I recently saw an article on using red lipstick to cover dark spots and so I decided to see for myself. To my surprise the results were astonishing! It actually works better than any of the concealers I've tried in the past. I recommend that you try this method and see if it works for you.

  • Start by dabbing an eyeshadow blending brush into orange-red or coral lipstick. Apply the red underneath your entire eye and up over the lid, covering the area around your eye socket.
  • Next, you dab the red over any other dark spots, scars, or pimples on your face.
  • Then, use a makeup sponge and apply your foundation all over the red lipstick and the rest of your face, blending well.

The results may leave you speechless!

GET OUT OF YOUR STYLE COMFORT ZONE!

We can get so caught up in what makes us most comfortable that we lose sight of appealing style. Playing it safe with the common black, white and brown. Add a twist to your routine wardrobe and show a little pizzazz!

Fashion should be creative, somewhat exciting , and sometimes, that means stepping out of your style comfort zone by including tasteful bold pieces into your look. You don’t have to go overboard. Instead, work on taking a chance with one new standout piece at a time. Here are a few examples.

1. Visible socks

Allow knee-high printed socks to peek out of the perimeter of your boots when you wear them with a calf-grazing skirt or dress. If you’re feeling fierce, swap the boots for a pair of round-toe pumps.

2. A jumpsuit

This fashion-forward piece adds instant edge to your wardrobe. Find one that fits your style and wear it in different ways all winter long. Pair it with a long cardigan if you’re feeling intimidated

3. The come-back backpack

The cool-again backpack isn’t at all like the knapsack that you carried around in middle school. The trendy versions replacing handbags this season are sleek and chic. Opt for a leather look in a stylish neutral. Toss your tote this weekend and carry this around instead.

4. A multi-media jacket

A jacket that mixes materials, like leather and printed fabric, makes for an anything-but-ordinary piece of outerwear. Allow whatever cool coat you pick to stand out by pairing it with an overall laid back look.

5. Leather bottoms

Most ladies assume that they can’t pull off leather bottoms, which is why we’re suggesting a skirt rather than skinnies. A faux skirt still has the ultra edgy effect of leather pants but is easier to wear.

6. A wide-brim hat

‘Tis the season to put a hat on it, especially the trending wide-brim, floppy styles we’ve been seeing as of late. Take advantage of this chic piece on your next bad hair day.

7. A wild print

Every girl needs a least one statement making print of pattern in her closet. Find a going out top that makes a statement. You can’t go wrong with leopard.

HOME REMEDIES FOR HEALTHY SKIN!

Every woman wants picture-perfect, flawless skin. Clear and beautiful skin is one of the main elements of a person’s beauty. Healthy skin helps you feel beautiful as well.

1. Lemon

Lemon is one of the best ingredients that you can use to promote clear skin. The citric acid present in lemon helps keep the skin clear by removing dead cells, and its vitamin C content helps reduce dark spots by increasing the cell renewal process. Lemon also has bleaching properties that will help improve your overall skin complexion.

Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day.

To exfoliate your skin, mix two teaspoons each of lemon juice and sugar. Apply the mixture on your face, neck and hands. Scrub in a circular motion and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once a week to enjoy glowing skin.

2. Turmeric

Turmeric is an excellent antiseptic and skin-lightening agent that helps minimize scars and other marks. Plus, turmeric can alleviate allergic, inflammatory and infectious skin disorders that make your skin look dull and lifeless.

Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with enough pineapple juice to make a paste. Apply the paste to your face and neck. Leave it on until the paste dries completely. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy two or three times a week to reduce the appearance of spots on skin.

Make a paste by mixing equal amounts of turmeric powder and gram flour with a little water or milk. Apply it evenly on your skin and leave it on until it dries. Wash it off with lukewarm water, scrubbing your skin gently in a circular motion. Follow this remedy once a week to lighten your skin tone and remove scars.

3. Honey

To enjoy clear skin, your need to keep your skin well moisturized. Honey is a great moisturizer and also has antibacterial properties that help ward off infection.

Apply raw honey directly on your skin. Let it dry naturally and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. The water content in honey will deeply moisturize the skin, making it soft and supple. Do this simple remedy once daily or every other day.

Alternatively, mix two teaspoons of milk and one teaspoon of honey. Then add one teaspoon of gram flour and mix it in well. Apply it all over your face. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Use this face mask once a week to enjoy radiant and clear skin.

4. Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has many benefits for the skin. It has antibacterial properties that help kill bacteria that cause acne, anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritated skin, and astringent properties that help heal scars. Plus, aloe vera moisturizes the skin and stimulates new skin cell growth.

Extract the gel from an aloe vera leaf.

Apply the gel on your face using a cotton ball.

Allow it to dry on its own for about half an hour, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Follow this remedy daily or several times per week.

5. Baking Soda

Baking soda balances pH levels of the skin, which is very important to maintain clear skin. Plus, its mild antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties help deal with problems like acne, pimples and spots. It also works as an excellent exfoliating agent to keep the skin free from dirt, impurities and
dead skin cells.

Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with one teaspoon of water or lemon juice to make a paste. Cleanse your face and use the paste to gently exfoliate the skin. Finally rinse your face with lukewarm water and
pat it dry with a towel. Follow this remedy two or three times a week.

Alternatively, mix one teaspoon each of baking soda and raw honey. Apply this mixture onto damp skin and massage gently for just one minute. Then wash with lukewarm water. Finally, splash some cold water on your face to close the pores. Follow this remedy once a week.

6. Cucumber

Cucumbers contain hydrating, nourishing and astringent properties that are very good for skin. They can improve the overall appearance of your skin by repairing damaged skin cells, removing dead skin cells and adding a fresh glow.

Cut a fresh cucumber into thick slices, and rub them thoroughly all over your face. Leave it on overnight and rinse with warm water in the morning. Do this daily before going to bed.

Alternatively, make a mixture with equal amounts of cucumber juice and lemon juice. Apply this mixture to your skin, allow it to dry completely, and then wash it off with warm water. Do this daily.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MAKE UP

Picture
If you're fair, go for a small amount of blush around a pinkish color for the cheeks. But, the fist thing you MUST know is that if you put on eye shadow don't ever put on lipstick or gloss at the same time. So for the eyes it really depends on your eye color, for blue eyes you shouldn't go for a blue eyeshadow go for earth-tones. If you want to jump out of earth tones light pink always looks good, Brown eyes can get away with wearing almost any color of eyeshadow. But if you really want to make them pop out go for aether green, pink or blue eyeshadow. In order to get green eyes to pop, you should try wearing various purple shades. If you want your eyes to stand out but look more natural, you may want to try warmer mocha brown shades or warm colors with slight orange undertones for green eyes.Keep in mind that you should have fun with your eyeshadow and it shouldn't be a bothersome process. A general rule of thumb with eyeshadow is to first compliment your eye color and then it shouldn't contrast your clothing. In other words, don't wear a purple based eyeshadow on your blue eyes while you are wearing a coral toned shirt. And for lipstick and gloss: gloss always looks better for people that have a fair skin tone a light pink would look Perfect!

If you're light, you should wear bronze or lavender purple eyeshadow. Apply it up to your crease. For the blush, you should choose a medium rose. Because your probably slightly dark-haired, you should choose black mascara. For finish put on a natural medium pink or coral/orangey.

If you have medium skin, choose chocolate brown or olive green. (make sure the olive is a bit shimmery, so it doesn't drag your eyes down) the blush should be a natural dark coral. You should definitely choose either black or blue mascara. Blue really brings out the eye colour. This only works for medium skin: Put on a matte bronzer on the bridge of your nose, forehead and chin. Make sure it looks very natural, and that you barely notice it. Brown stains on your face - not a good look. Choose a matte, light red lipstick.

If you have dark skin, choose a dark plum or black-brown matte eyeshadow. The blush should be dark plum or bronze. It really makes the cheekbones pop. The mascara should be a very black one. And the lipstick should be a creamy wine or plum tone
